Hidden City Flights
A hidden city flight is when you book a connecting flight through your actual destination because it is cheaper than flying direct. You simply get off at the layover city. This can save 30-50% on certain routes.

Airlines price routes based on demand, competition, and hub economics. Sometimes a connecting itinerary through a hub is cheaper than flying to that hub directly, because the airline needs to fill seats on the longer route.
Important Rules
- One-way only — Never book a round trip hidden city fare. If you miss a segment, the airline cancels all remaining segments.
- Carry-on only — Checked bags will be sent to the final destination, not your layover city.
- No frequent flyer number — Airlines may flag frequent hidden city users and cancel their loyalty accounts.
- Risk of rebooking — If there is a schedule change, you may be rebooked on a route that does not stop at your desired city.
When It Works Best
- Flying to a major hub city (Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Charlotte)
- Routes where the direct flight is a monopoly (only one airline flies nonstop)
- Last-minute travel where direct fares are inflated
- When you are flexible on timing (connections may have limited options)
