How it works

  1. You describe the trip. Free text. The same way you'd ask a friend who books award travel.
  2. The AI parses it. Pulls out origins, fans out destinations for vague queries (“warm beach” → Cancún, San Juan, Tulum, Aruba…), resolves relative dates (“next month”), and locks any filters you mentioned (nonstop, business class, <$700).
  3. We run the real search. Each parsed destination gets a live cross-source query — Duffel + seats.aero + scraper aggregator — same pipeline that powers /search.
  4. Cash + points side-by-side. Every match shows what you'd pay in dollars next to what you'd pay in miles, plus a cents-per-point judgment so the decision is a single glance.

How is this different from regular flight search?

Regular search needs you to know the origin, destination, and exact dates. Flight Deals lets you describe the trip the way you'd describe it to a friend ("week-long warm beach trip in February for under $700") and the AI figures out which 4-8 destinations fit.

Does Pointify use Duffel, seats.aero, or its own data?

All three. The AI translates your request into structured queries; the search itself runs against the same multi-source aggregator that powers /search — Duffel cash inventory, seats.aero award availability, and our own Google-Flights-style scraper for cross-checking.

Can I refine the results?

Yes. After the AI proposes destinations, you can drop one, swap dates, lock to a specific airline alliance, or shift to points-only. The page round-trips back through /search so every refinement is a real live query.

Why does this matter for points travelers?

Cash-only AI deal tools (Google's Aug 2025 launch, Hopper, Kayak Discover) ignore award availability. Pointify pipes the parsed query through both cash AND points pipelines so you see "this trip is $1,200 on Delta or 47k Virgin Atlantic miles" side-by-side.
