Booking Award travel for NYC-HND/FUK

Hey everyone, I have a group trip coming up and I managed to get JAL HND-SFO Business on the 777 Sky Suite on 11/10. I’m curious if cancelling would be in instant point return such that I could possibly book a JAL First class if it comes up. I’m still in need of a flight to go from NYC to Tokyo (or to Fukuoka if possible). Are JAL and ANA (and any other possible partners) still likely to release award availability 2 weeks before departure?
