New QR policy update on using Avios to upgrade family member/others (opens Reddit r/awardtravel in a new tab)

Hi, we've met with a bit of bad luck and would like to ask if anyone here has been able to find a good workaround. QA recently changed their rules for flight upgrades using Avios. Basically new QA PC customers cannot use their Avios points to upgrade family/friends unless their account is 30 days old + they have flown recently. My husband is our primary card holder and his QA account is brand new. We have a QA flight that we have been hoping to upgrade for a whi

Delta Pilots Subtly Blame Management For “Unacceptable” Flight Reliability (opens One Mile at a Time in a new tab)

Delta Air Lines’ pilot union has set up a website to apologize to customers for the carrier’s declining operational reliability. The site is genuinely useful and comes across as just being intended to help, but the undertone here is very clear. I must say, this is very well played on the part of the union.

Lufthansa First Class Partner Availability (opens Reddit r/awardtravel in a new tab)

Anyone had recent success booking Lufthansa first through Air Canada?

I keep a loose eye on first class availability - Boston is currently served by A380 and 747-8 so I’d love to snag a ride on either this summer but haven’t seen any seats open up on AC in the past week or so.

Curious if others are seeing the same. Miles and more has tons of first class availability over the Fourth of July but none of the seats are showing up to partners.
</
