Best use of Chase points (opens Reddit r/awardtravel in a new tab)

I’m pretty unfamiliar with the points game, but I have ~451k chase points through my Sapphire Preferred. I know Hyatt is devaluing transfer points from 1:1 -> 4:3 for existing card holders starting Oct 2026. Wondering if it’s worth transferring all my points to Hyatt before the deadline to lock in the 1:1. I don’t really plan on using points for airlines. I’d rather use them for luxury stays

   submitted by <a href="https://www

American Airlines Lounge Food Workers Strike At Phoenix Airport As Airline Touts Better Club Dining (opens View From The Wing in a new tab)

Food and beverage workers at American Airlines’ Phoenix Admirals Clubs walked out amid a contract fight with Compass Eurest, just as American promotes upgraded lounge dining. The airline says customer impact should be minimal - which says as much about the lounge offerings in Phoenix as the contribution of the employees of its contractor.

Delta Unbundles All Fares, And Basic Business Class Isn’t Called Delta One (opens One Mile at a Time in a new tab)

Over time, we’ve seen the concept of ”basic economy” become pretty widespread, whereby the cheapest economy fares include the fewest perks. The purpose of this is twofold — to expand a carrier’s potential customer base, and to get existing customers to ”buy up” to a higher fare, in order to avoid punitive restrictions.

Ugh: Boeing 737 Crashes In Arabian Sea, Plunges 35,000 Feet In Two Minutes (opens One Mile at a Time in a new tab)

Late on Tuesday night, a Boeing 737 crashed into the Arabian Sea. There’s no such thing as a straightforward aviation accident, and the circumstances surrounding this are particularly strange — the pilots reported navigation issues, and moments later the plane start descending rapidly, only to then climb rapidly, before finally plunging over six miles, and going ”missing.”

Marriott Bonvoy Points Devaluation: Widespread Increase In Award Costs (opens One Mile at a Time in a new tab)

In recent days, Marriott Bonvoy seems to have implemented a relatively mild but widespread devaluation of points, whereby we’ve seen the cost of award nights at a large percentage of properties increase. The devaluation is significant enough so that it’s probably meaningful for Marriott, but minimal enough so that the company hopes that Bonvoy members won’t notice…

YOTEL Joining Hilton Honors Program, Planning Huge Growth In Coming Years (opens One Mile at a Time in a new tab)

A few months ago, Hilton and YOTEL announced plans to join forces, which I’m happy to see, as I’m kind of a sucker for the YOTELAIR concept. There’s now an update, as we have a sense of when this integration will happen — the YOTEL Club program will wind down as of July 15, 2026, and most YOTEL properties are expected to transition to Hilton Honors by early September 2026.
